Call for Submissions: Ozarks Rivers and Lakes Essays

The only thing richer than the history and folklore of the Ozarks is the soil beneath its people’s feet. The region’s lush splendor is with special thanks to its many rivers and lakes, wonders of nature which make this little corner of the world an attractive and one-of-a-kind place to call home for all walks of life.

In addition to our literary journal, Skipjack Review, Skipjack Arts also publishes a variety of standalone books. As much as we enjoy a good yarn, for this collection we are exclusively seeking critical essays and creative nonfiction about rivers and lakes of the Ozarks. We are also interested in original visual art and photography. It’s our hope to assemble a collection which reads less like reportage and more like the oral storytelling and histories of our mothers and fathers and father’s fathers. Come on in and stay awhile. Have a seat at the water table. Tell us a story.
